Tells the story of the man, King George VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II was. After his brother, thanked George ("Bertie") reluctantly takes the throne. Plagued by a stammer and feared as unfit to be king, takes Bertie using an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a series of unexpected techniques and as a result of an unusual friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and courage to lead the country through the war.
