It is time the notion that Mont Vantoux claimed the life of Tom Simpson was itself laid to rest. Simpson was a great cycle racer, but it would be no disrespect to him to actually be honest about what happened on the day of his death and his own contribution to it. One can respect the life of Tom Simpson without the continued sentimentalism of the way his life ended. It was tragic & he was naive.
